Virtual Pop Star


It was only a matter of time. This is a Miku Hatsune, a fully virtual pop star. The performer is a 3d hologram and the voice is a computer program manufactured by Yamaha. She's not the first virtual pop star, but she's the most advanced and most popular by far. I have the feeling we're going to be seeing a lot more of this in the coming years.

    There's no holograms here, it's just a projector like what is used in movie theaters.

    We don't yet have the technology to make holographic movies like that.

    Im much more fond of the holograms of Gorilaz, I believe they did both the cartoon band/Holograms first anyway...

    I somehow worried about the future of music.

    sure we got many bad singers and bad bands nowadays. but this is a bit too much.

    yes I know Gorrilaz did that too. but there's a difference between 'a real band made song then performed it with hologram because it gonna be ridiculous if they performed with mask' and 'a singer thats not even real, her music is created with a software, autotuned as they pleased and performed it with a 3d hologram'

    I imagined myself, if this will be afforable in couple of years, there's no need to be a musician.
