Virtual Pop Star
It was only a matter of time. This is a Miku Hatsune, a fully virtual pop star. The performer is a 3d hologram and the voice is a computer program manufactured by Yamaha. She's not the first virtual pop star, but she's the most advanced and most popular by far. I have the feeling we're going to be seeing a lot more of this in the coming years.

I just don't get Vocaloids. The tech looks impressive though.
ReplyDeleteWhere is Sharon Apple ?
ReplyDeleteThis is actually pretty awesome.
ReplyDeleteNoe lets try the same technology and music with a fat chick
ReplyDeleteHer name is actually Miku Hatsune* And shes quite popular :) Along with Rin and Len Kagamine, Megurie Luka, and others..
ReplyDeleteThis would be so sick at a rave
ReplyDeleteWHat happened to the rock and roll we all used to know and love :(
ReplyDeleteWho cares your're just like the miku haters from the Finebros reaction videos.WELL I HOPE YOU'RE ARE HAPPY BECAUSE YOUR US MUSIC IS STILL MAINSTREAMED AND I WILL PROMISE THE FUTURE WILL BE HEARD.MUUUUHHHHAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAA
DeleteOMG she is soooo HOT! I NEED HER FOR MY COLLECTION!
ReplyDeleteI love Vocaloids :3 I think the technology is wonderful and Miku is cute hehe wish I'd been there..
ReplyDeleteMeh, not my cup of tea. I'd rather see a hologram of a real person. But it is great that we're starting to use technologies such as this.
ReplyDeleteSo Megazone 23. Eve is that you?
ReplyDeleteI only see a marginal difference to Miley Cyrus and the like.
ReplyDeleteMacross!
ReplyDeleteI think I read somewhere that the Genki Rockets did something similar, though it didn't sound nearly this advanced
ReplyDeleteDon't compare her to Miley Cyrus! You'll offend Miku! Miku is far more real than Miley could ever be!
ReplyDeleteI so agree wit that
Deletemaybe why not? this pop star will never end up like britney spears
ReplyDeleteomg i cant believe!.... song is ruined :(

I like my music made by people...the technology is impressive and the songs are cute but there is no soul...I miss Dio.
ReplyDeleteat least people can't accuse her lip-syncing
ReplyDeleteNot trying to offend anyone, but isn't it sorta similar to Gorillaz then, as in an animated band (although their sound isn't produced by Yamaha)
ReplyDeleteWell, you can bet Weeaboos worldwide just orgasmed, as this is the closest thing to real-life anime that they'll ever get their hands on.
ReplyDeletebtw it's not really a hologram but it's just an image projected onto a transparent screen.
ReplyDeleteGot the Blu-ray the second it went on sale!
ReplyDeleteOmggiiii~ I love Miku <333 Although, KAITO and Len are by far the best Vocaloids. o 3o World is Mine, that's the song she's singing. I'd love to go to a Vocaloid concert. orz
ReplyDeleteDidn't the Gorillaz do this like three or four years ago???
ReplyDeleteWTF Japan just raped miley cyrus by far
ReplyDeletePERSON WHO CLAIMS MIKU IS LIKE MILEY IS MILEY AND IS JUST JEALOUS OF MIKU'S AWESOMENESS AND REAL FANS.
ReplyDeleteJKLOL WHO AM I KIDDING, MILEY DUN EVEN HAVE FANS.
BUT SRSLY, VOCALOIDS ARE AWESOME.
AND THE SONGS ARE MADE BY REAL PEOPLE, VOCALOIDS ARE JUST THEIR INSTRUMENT. C: GOD I'M SO HYPER.
Ur rite u r absolutly rite
DeleteThis is better than any pop I hear in the US.
ReplyDeleteAt least it doesn't try to hide that the singer isn't real
luls
So, how do they do the 3D hologram? Is there fog and they use lasers, or is there some "unknown to the United States" technology that they have? It wouldn't be the first...
ReplyDeleteWow. For the first time in a long time, my jaw actually dropped.
ReplyDeleteAnd hey, she's as real ANY of a thousand plastic pop stars and groups who just happened to be wrapped around warm bodies. Talkin' to YOU, NSYNC. And Monkees. And a lotta folks in between.
That's it... I surrender... Time we all bowed before our future Japanese overlords...
ReplyDeleteXD you'll see a LOT more of miku and other vocaloids in the future..
ReplyDeleteVocaloid is rapiding gaining popularity rofl
There's no holograms here, it's just a projector like what is used in movie theaters.
ReplyDeleteWe don't yet have the technology to make holographic movies like that.
I'd actually like a hologram of Fredy Mercury...
ReplyDeleteAgree.
DeleteOOOOHHH, IT HURTS SO MUCH!!!!
ReplyDeleteI guess this brings new hopes for radio actors and pop singers, no more need to be beautiful or use of make-up.
ReplyDelete...Wait, most advanced and popular by far? So what are the Gorillaz then?
ReplyDeleteWhy is everyone dissing Miku?!
ReplyDeleteShe's sooo cool!!
._.
ReplyDeleteMore attractive than just about any other female singer i've ever seen!
ReplyDeleteapart from the virtual voice, this isn't very far from gorillaz...
ReplyDeleteWhat exactly is the point of going to a live concert of vocaloid when it's not really 'live'?
ReplyDeleteWell, to be fair, Gorillaz do (did? I dunno if they still perform) the same thing for their live shows. Although I will admit that the crowd waving light-up leeks is a little much for me.
ReplyDeleteMai waifu.
ReplyDeleteObi-wan Kenobi you're my only hope!
ReplyDeletei would love to have dat machine and get myself a viral girlfriend :D
ReplyDeleteI see nothing wrong with this, we had a hatsune miku concert in LA last month
ReplyDeleteIf she were real, I would perform very sexual things to her.
ReplyDeleteIm much more fond of the holograms of Gorilaz, I believe they did both the cartoon band/Holograms first anyway...
ReplyDeleteBut I guess Im biased because I love Gorillaz, and dislike miku hatsune.
I somehow worried about the future of music.
ReplyDeletesure we got many bad singers and bad bands nowadays. but this is a bit too much.
yes I know Gorrilaz did that too. but there's a difference between 'a real band made song then performed it with hologram because it gonna be ridiculous if they performed with mask' and 'a singer thats not even real, her music is created with a software, autotuned as they pleased and performed it with a 3d hologram'
I imagined myself, if this will be afforable in couple of years, there's no need to be a musician.
what happened to old rock and roll?
Miku is the best, even though some people dislikes her or maybe thinks its a bad idea to have a hologram sing, its worth a shot to try something like that........right?????
ReplyDeletemy eyes just lit up! I didn't think I would find a Miku video on this site
