Most of the time, I can understand japanese advertising. Not this time.
the dude fantarou is walking with his two classmates and his classmate tamekichi's mother grabs his collar and asks "where are you taking my son?" and he replies "to the club." the mother thinks of a dance club and then the two boys drop their pants showing their sumo wrestling loincloths and say "Duh, we're going to the school (sumo) club."
Thanks to the person above for the translation! I often wonder how weird a lot of American commercials might look to someone who wouldn't know what was going on because they don't understand English.
If I'm not mistaken that's Asashōryū Akinori, Yakuzuna and 'bad boy' of the sumo sport.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asash%C5%8Dry%C5%AB_Akinori He was very controversial during his rein and we can consider him a 'bad influence' in the Ad as what the mother thought he was. But actually he was taking the boys to sumo 'good influence' hence Fanta!!
Fanta ads always have been funny, precisely, childish laugh. because they intend to market Fanta to children.
Thanks for the translation! Without it, it just would have remained one big pile of "WTF?" for me. ;D
Even after the explanation, It still makes me go "what?"
Okay, I understand the commercial now but what the fuck does it have to do with Fanta? Oh, Japan...
ಠ_ಠ ...Must... buy... Fanta!
I thought at the end the kids were saying it was alright for them to drink fanta because they were prepared with diapers.
yeah - i agree with the comment above - haha
Fanta make me want to go happy penis fun time now.
Please God make it stop. Oh mon Dieu....
seriously, what does all this have to do with fanta?!
Jesus, the round-about-commercails we get for products in the UK (and some from America) aren't exactely any weirder than this, or more 'to the point'. It's meant to be funny. However, without that translation, this does look somewhat creepy. Sure, though, has anyone seen the maynard's 'chew' campaign? What do meerkats have to do with compare the market?
Oh... my.... god.....I don't know what the hell any of this means. But I am more inclined to buy Fanta simply because they don't have that annoying goddamn song.
