I suppose for the same reason that kids the world over make fake food out of clay. It's a safe way to practice being grown up and emulating adults. Japan just takes it all up to eleven.
but if they can make this edible,then they can make right sized ones. then no one would ever have to cook or use an oven or stove again. more safe, i think.

DeleteI'm thinking the reason they don't make konapun anymore is because some kids tried to eat them despite the many warnings on the box.
