  1. I honesty have no idea why so many people like her. Yeah shes cute and yeah her image is interesting and exciting but I feel like her music and fashion has no emotion. She is kinda the equivalent of a flashy plastic easter egg with no candy.

    1. ANONYMOUS: The reason why Kyary is so popular is because she is a odd combination of Katy Perry and Lady Gaga. Anything (Anyone) who has a combination of weird and cute at the same time is instant win. Just think about how Katy Perry and Lady Gaga would be without their weird videos and attire. They (Katy Perry and Lady Gaga) would be just another singing artist..

    3. Actually, the reason she is famous is because she is a harajuku icon. harajuku was out before lady Gaga and Katy Perry.
Kyaru Likes hard rock, and jpop, she does this because she says people shouldn't take themself so serious all the time. let loose and have fun.

she is famousbecause , unlike artists like Plastic Ayumi, She is an icon. a smart, fun and cute girl. with a badgirl spunk to her.

    5. It's not that Kyary Pamy Pamyu can't sing. It's that some people don't quite know how to listen. Her vocals are subtly nuanced. Listen to the note bends on individual syllables in the opening four lines of Candy Candy, for example, with particular attention to the end of the third line. What seems simple and straightforward is actually extraordinarily difficult. She accomplishes it perfectly, with ease and grace. Very few singers could do the same.

Regarding the lip-syncing, of course she does it. She doesn't just stand or walk about with a microphone. Her on-stage performances generally involve continuous high energy dance routines. She lip-syncs or sings chorus with her own recordings during live performances, depending on what's required. Anyone doubting her talent should view the DVD of her 11/06/2012 show at Nippon Budokan. That's when it suddenly hit me just how gifted this delightful young woman actually is.

It doesn't hurt that she's teamed up with Yasukata Nataka, of course. The guy is a genius.

    6. I would say she is a performer moreover just a singer. Although she does sing. But they play the music so loudly that you can barely hear her, if at all. Even before the whole music thing, she started as a model, and kind of is still a model. I would lean more towards her as a performer, because I mean her shows aren't really focusing on the singing. They are focusing on several different things. Mostly her dancing, and stage persona. Which is what a lot of pop artists do nowadays anyway. I would choose Kyary over someone that obviously couldn't carry a tune in a bucket but lip synced and used auto tune, but was also mean spirited. At least Kyary is an honest Artist, and works hard for her dreams.

    7. I went to one of her concerts and it will be my last. I unintentionally saw her perform at a jpop festival. Again, she lip synced. I can't support singers who lip sync on stage. It ruins the live experience.

  2. Does this girl actually sing, as in a singing career or does she just do commercials?

  8. At least this ad had something to do with the product being advertized... assuming this was an ad for a store selling bad, ugly, garish, retina burning clothes. With polka dot tutu ninjas folding stuff in the back.

  9. I love you, Kyary!

The reason why this girl is so popular is because she is young and has achieved her dreams already, and all due to hard work. Her music videos are cute, and have a trippy edge. Anyone would find this mildy interesting. How can she still appear so adorable with all this madness...and wearing this madness??? XD. This girl is herself. She is silly, she is strong, she is talented. She is a fashion designer (started out as one), became a model, then singer. She is so freaking creative. This video is simply a promo. It is advertising something and really is nothing like any of her songs/MVs (Her music vids are much more creative, not so strange and empty, like this advertisement). If you actually took a look into her music is it so much better than this. The lyircs are fun-spirited, and playful. They make me so happy!!!
Kyary inspires me. She came from small town and wore clothes that her mother thought were strange. So much so, that her mom did not allow her to walk in their neighborhood wearing the clothes that truly expressed her individuality.

After a while of "hiding herself", she has finally made it big! Kyary has become famous being the silly, modest, creative girl that she is. She is 18 or 19 now, and began as a fashion designer when she was 16. How crazy is that? She's amazing to accomplish all of that and put herself out there despite what she thought other might have thought of her. If she was some strange gal, making mediocre music, no one would have remembered her enough to actually care about this girl.

There are plenty of "strange and cute" singers out there. Do you know any besides Perry and Gaga? NOPE. Why? Because Perry and Gaga actually make music that appeals to a lot of people. With Kyary it is the same. There are plenty of "strange yet cute" Japanese artists/singers. Hardly anyone is talking about them outside their country. Kyary has made news in Japan and many other countries. She did a successful concert in France earlier this year. There is no doubt in her success, nor in her ability to sing, dance, and entertain an audience. Despite the obvious language barrier, Kyary did a great concert in France.

There are ton of people who wish they were half as confident as she is. Willing to be herself, despite what others thought, she dove in to this career. It was no certain as to whether she would make any money, or make it big. But she did. And there is a reason:This girl rocks.
And if you can't see that, you are blind, jealous, or too confused understand qualities that should truly be admired.

  11. She cannot sing. At all. I've been singing for 24 years and I could easily sing like her with zero training - because she sings like a baby.

  12. I was watching this and not knowing what it was I thought about halfway through that the wtf was that it was actually a guy but now that I've read the comments...okay?

  13. i think her fanbase is just a bunch of big nerds and freaks and weird people. i mean look at her, shes like a plastic, her face is just plain flat, and yes she's cute but no.. its more like she has a stupid face. and please dont say she can sing, she sing like a 3 years old girl who have no idea what singing technique is. She's just a plain gimmick made by entertainment company to entertain otaku, nerds, or hikikomori. She probably suck a bunch of producers dicks to get to her place like right now.

  15. Interesting to see just how far some can take playing with dolls. ...shudder to think at the masculine alternatives.

  16. I can understand lip-syncing at live performances because the dancing would make it difficult to sing... but can she even sing when she's standing still? Has anyone ever seen it happen? My guess is that her voice in the studio is heavily doctored (the technology is getting better every year) and what we hear on her albums isn't really her voice.
