Japan Ruins the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

  1. Haha. That's basically the reaction my friend had when I got him to watch these two episodes... Me, personally, I loved the whole silliness of it.

And really. After the Coming Out of their Shells and Christmas Specials... The franchise was already at rock bottom, and in many ways, way lower than that. And this was step back into quality. Silly quality, yes. But at least some quality.

But for all of you that believe this production was the worst. Take heart in the fact that they only did two episodes of the super sentai Turtles.

  2. Strangely enough..... this is kinda awesome.... in a freaky sort of way, its also kinda obscene that they look "human" and are necked like that... >8I

  3. You found that by looking up "jumping the shark" on TVTropes, didn't you?

  4. It wasn't any sillier than the already bastardised 80s cartoon adaptation got at times, I actually never saw a problem with it. =P

  6. I remember seeing this on Cracked. They said, "Of course the turtles combine into some kind of giant robot, because apparently it's in Japan's constitution."

I'm beginning to wonder if that's the case.

  8. This just proves once again that Japan can turn anything into a crappy mech show.

  10. Well, arguably Americans have retaliated by making 4Kids dubs and Dragon Ball the movie. So let's call this even.

  12. "These stones are capable of transforming the turtles into Super Turtles for only 3 minutes."

Only 3 minutes? How long are the episodes? Does this 3 minutes start when they show the magical stones in the intro, or does it start at some time during the episode? I don't think that they thought this one through. I am almost starting to believe that this whole ninja turtle thing is made up. Three minutes just sounds way too short.

  13. Why haven`t anyone noticed that they don`t only go meka fusion, but also have Saint Seiya like armors. Also why does the opening end with a space shuttle?
